Playa de Amadores

Playa de Amadores

A unique area in Las Palmas

Amadores is a growing tourist area belonging to the municipality of Mogán, situated only 1 km from the popular area of Puerto Rico and only 18 km from the "Little Venice" as the idyllic Puerto de Mogán is affectionately known.

Due to its wide and calm waters, this beach is ideal for family leisure. Protected from the currents by two large breakwaters, its waters form a large pool ideal for swimming or simply enjoying the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean.

Along the promenade there are a multitude of bars, restaurants and shops that will allow you to spend a full day at the beach. You can also reach the neighbouring town of Puerto Rico via a wonderful promenade.

Las Dunas de Maspalomas

A must-see in Gran Canaria

Las Dunas de Maspalomas are undoubtedly the number one place to visit on the island of Gran Canaria.

It is one of the most famous and emblematic places and not only for its beauty, but also for its vast extension with more than 400 hectares of golden sand.

A place with dunes up to 10 metres high that will make you feel like you are in the desert itself, but always with the sea in the background. A perfect combination to discover the landscapes of Gran Canaria at first hand.

Barranco de las Vacas y Roque Nublo

Discover the island

If you like mountains and hiking, we recommend a visit Barranco de las Vacas and Roque Rublo.

Barrando de las Vacas is one of the most curious geological formations on the island. It is a canyon with rock formations that are a little unusual and reminiscent, in miniature of course, of the Grand Canyon.

Roque Rublo is the ideal place for trekking enthusiasts. It is a rural park located in the centre of the island. It is one of the most dramatic areas of Gran Canaria and at an altitude of 1,800 meters.

Visit the villages

of Gran Canaria

Two of the best known villages on the island are Mogán and Tejeda. Mogán is the port known as "the Canarian Venice". It is a fishing village of incomparable beauty. Tejeda, on the other hand, is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. It is characterised by its white houses and is surrounded by the foothills of the mountains.

The following are other villages not to be missed: Arucas, located in the north and of singular beauty; Agaete, a fishing village where the best fish on the island is said to be found; the small coastal village of Tufia, in the purest classical Greek style surrounded by volcanic sand; Teror, considered by many to be the most beautiful village on the island and located 500 metres above the sea; Firgas, with an emblematic historic centre; and we finish with Agüimes, where we recommend a stroll through its streets.

Las Palmas

Capital of Gran Canaria

A must if you come on holiday to the island of Gran Canaria, is a visit to the city of Las Palmas. This is the main city and capital of the island.

Some of the activities we recommend you do in the city are: visit the neighbourhood of Vegueta, take a stroll through the streets of the historic city centre, indulge yourself with a shopping tour of Calle Triana (the capital's main shopping street), and visit the Cathedral.

And of course, you can't leave without taking a stroll along playa de las Canteras. A tour of the capital's coastline that you can't miss.

Gastronomy

of Gran Canaria

If there is one thing we are proud of in Gran Canaria, apart from the beautiful scenery of the island and the wonderful tropical climate, it is the exquisite local gastronomy.

Playa de Amadores is one of the island's tourist areas par excellence. This makes it the ideal destination to enjoy the local leisure and restaurant options during your holidays.
